Hypertension is considered a controllable risk factor for chronic diseases, highly prevalent comorbidity among patients. In the Global Risk Factor Assessment report of 2015, high blood pressure was rated as one of the top risk factors for the increasing rate of disability in the world (Mao et al., 2020). The escalating financial burden on health care systems in developing countries is due to the continuously rising prevalence of hypertension. Therefore, establishing technological mechanisms to manage this condition seems to be an effective solution to this global health problem. The continuous development of science and technology has led to the emergence of various treatment strategies such as mHealth - mobile health – intervention, which is applied for managing chronic diseases. Management of HTN by patients and physicians can be improved with new communication and telephone technologies (Pellegrini & Parati 2019). The management model for hypertension through these technologies is increasingly becoming popular since more patients – including low-income people – own technological devices that support their medical well-being.
