The Future of Communication Technology Throughout this course, you have learned about the way communication has changed over time with the introduction of new technological innovations. In your final paper you will demonstrate the knowledge you have gained by examining the relationship between technology and communication through different time periods (past, present, and future). You will also use critical thinking to predict how technology will affect communication in the future based on your analysis of the historical developments of the communication technologies that you have studied in this course. Select three technological innovations that you would like to expand upon in your paper, one from each of the following sections in the Grant and Meadows (2019) textbook: Electronic Mass Media (Chapters 6 through 10) Computers & Consumer Electronics (Chapters 11 through 20) Networking Technologies (Chapters 21 through 25) Using the Summative Assignment Template , as a guide, begin with an introductory paragraph that includes a succinct thesis statement and provides a high-level overview of your paper. For each of the three technological innovations that you selected, Determine which early communication technology had the greatest influence on the development of the technological innovation you selected. Explain the impact that each of the technological innovations you selected has on the way people currently communicate. Describe the effects of your selected technological innovations on interpersonal relations, groups, organizations, and society. Identify three key developments related to communication technology that you believe will occur within the next five years. Justify your predictions with evidence and sound reasoning. Identify three significant changes in the way people use communication technology that will occur at least twenty-five years into the future. Justify your predictions with evidence and sound reasoning. Summarize the topics discussed and reaffirm your thesis statement in your conclusion. Remember not to introduce any new topics in your conclusion. A strong paper will justify the predictions made about future developments in communication technology by referencing the historical developments and trends discussed earlier in the paper.
