According to Dutta & Roy (2004), technology can be defined as an imposition of scientific knowledge that is geared towards implementing a practical purpose. In an economic point of view, technology aims at speeding up operation, lowing the costs, and most importantly, creating a quick access to the services and products being offered by a business. It is therefore clear that technology plays a significant role concerning operations conducted by a business. Considering how technology has supported businesses in general, Dhar & Sundararajan (2007) presents an argument that about 65% of businesses that have sufficiently incorporated information technology into their daily operations are highly successful. This is as a result of increased access to information that can be leveraged by the business in benchmarking, pricing and planning product promotion.
