Introduction
During
the process of growth and development, children may face both adverse and
positive impacts that may provide a bearing on their future behavior. As such, these early experiences are critical
in public health, education, and social life of a child. Various linkages can be made between the
adverse children behavior such as; early death, a low potential in life, and
adverse health conditions.
A
reflection on taking the ACE Questionnaire
Finding
my Adverse Childhood Experience score has presented me with a better framework
to discover how my behavior has been influenced over time during the process of
growth and development. My ACE score was 6 points denoting that my childhood
experiences were not very severe. Also, taking the ACE test gave me a better
chance to reflect on various childhood memories that are important in shaping
my current social life, health, and academic performance (“Take The ACE Quiz —

How
does my Results compare to those of general public.
Centers
for Disease Control (2016), presents ACE date concerning the general public. In
the presentation, Adverse Childhood Experience has been categorized into three
major groups; Family challenges, abuse, and neglect. Taking a sample size of
17,337 respondents, CDC presents facts that indicate a higher score in the ACE
test compared to my results. In abuse, neglect, and household challenges, the
sample used for this study depicts a higher score factoring in the presentation
for both genders. However, women have been view to have undergone severe
Adverse Childhood Experiences compared to men (Adverse Childhood Experiences,
2016)
How
my results compare to those working in the Behavioral Health Field
CDC (2016) conducted research which revealed ACE points for a sample size of 17, 000 Health Maintenance Organization Members. The sample representing confidentially surveyed Southern California member working in the behavioral health field depicts that most member who have had more than four Adverse Childhood Experience scored about 12.5% on average which is higher compares to my score.
