Liggans and other authors studied the effect of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMSs) and Certified Food Protection Managers (CFPMs) on the control of Listeria monocytogenes in foods available in restaurants around the globe. The authors analyzed data from most restaurants in Georgia, USA, and evaluated their compliance with practices on food security. It has been found that implementing an FSMS was associated with increased adherence to food safety practices for the control of Listeria monocytogenes in restaurants. In addition, CFPM was linked to significantly higher compliance with L. monocytogenes practices.
