“Once

meaningful quote because it is used to explain how the college couple worked
together to solve their communication challenges (Kearney). The quote offers a
good representation of the articles primary theme that focuses on the problems
that couples face in marriage due to misunderstanding each other. Tannen
explains that to improve their communication the man in the young couple tries
to alter his behavior as such the lady is impressed. The quote means that after
the young couple identified their communication problems and came up with
solutions. Tannen implies that there are possible communication problems
between couples that need to be understood so that solutions to those issues
can be established. They alter their behavior to improve their conversations.

communication in relationships results from people holding different thoughts
