Lu, H., Chan, S. S. M., Chan, W. C., Lin, C.,
Cheng, C. P. W., & Linda Chiu Wa, L. (2019). Randomized controlled trial of
TDCS on cognition in 201 seniors with mild neurocognitive disorder. Annals
of clinical and translational neurology, 6(10), 1938-1948.
The authors' main findings were that older adults did not show any
intervention group variation and that there was evidence of cognitive boost during
the intervention period. These findings were evidenced by the fact that the
observation period proved that the tDCS or WMT were commonly useful for individuals needing a cognitive
boost. The authors reach these findings by conducting an observation of 201
participants in an observation process of 4 weeks. The article's main
limitation is using small sample size, 201; participants are not enough to
ensure effective generalization of the outcome. These outcomes will be relevant
to my final paper by information instances of the use of cognitive enhancement.
