College
education has become increasingly important, considering changing working
dynamics. Huelsman's article address the need for promoting education by
enhancing education by eliminating the incriminating cost. The main idea of
Huelsman's research is that increasing students' debts has discouraged many
learners from pursuing their career dream due to the fear that they may not
manage to repay the loan back in the future. The article begins by looking at
the broken affordability system in the learning institution and indicates it is
the major reason when most people are not willing to invest in educating their
children.
Free
education is meant to benefit everyone, specifically the poor in society. For
this reason, it has become increasingly necessary to align the education agenda
with the capability of the people. For example, if a majority of students
accessing education cannot afford the cost, educators should revise the cost of
learning to ensure everyone gets a chance to be in school. In addition,
Huelsman believes that going to school is not only a financial matter, but a
social aspect that enable students to relate well with each other, and more so,
creating professional links to help shape their behavior and become
well-modeled citizens.
This
article is important in addressing the issue of free education because the
researcher has invested a significant amount of time in elaborating on cost
versus benefits. Some of the data presented show that low-income families are
grappling with poverty and the situation only gets worse when they have to give
away their limited assets to educate their kids. Therefore, the article
concludes that the only way to ensure social prosperity, political uprightness,
and economic prowess is to give every student a chance to be in school, by
making college free for everyone.
