climate change is recognized among the most prominent threatening and pervasive
issues affecting the present-day societies with far-reaching impacts (Delgado,
15). There are different factors that cause climate change, and it is expected
that it results in various implications on the functioning of the ecosystems,
weather patterns, and so on. The effects on the ecosystems have resulted in the
change in temperature and rise in sea-levels, therefore, posing a real-time
threat to the human well-being. The issues surrounding climate change have
resulted in countries pursuing low-emission development so that to enhance
their adaptability and resilience to climate change. As a result, countries
have been empowered by organizations such as the United Nations Environment
Programme (UNEP) to adopt strategies that will reduce the emission of
greenhouse gases. The debate that has ensued from the issues surrounding
climate change has supported the development of strategic measures focused
