Essay-Learned Writing Skills
I notice my
writing is still in the growth stage. I have always had the idea that my
writing was much better. However, during the course, I realized there are still
many things that I need to rectify towards becoming an accomplished literary
communicator. The portfolio helped me see my writing style differently because
of the many activities undertaken and, most importantly, peer comments. Different
views about my writing style have also enabled me to look at my communication
styles from the perspective of work-in-progress rather than a well-accomplished
writer as I have always perceived myself.
During the course,
my writing has improved in many ways. The first way is that I can communicate
almost clearly and effectively incorporate examples in my literary works.
Before the beginning of this course, I had the challenge of making much sense
to my audiences. Also, rational interpretation theory did not play out well

unclear is no longer a challenge. Secondly, I think I write differently because
it can easily relate arguments with support pieces of evidence. Most convincing
arguments must be supported by evidence, examples, and concepts that we have

effort. It was not easy for me to learn how to communicate better, and I know
other writers in my class and beyond had to put the same effort to became
better in communication; this makes me view their works with respect. I also
view writing by other people with appreciation; that is why I always use
references to acknowledge works authored by other scholars. Through this
course, I have also developed a positive attitude when tackling tasks that require
critical thinking. Research is one of the main avenues of ensuring quality in
literary presentation; through research, I have learned the need for verifying
any information before I put on paper. When approaching new information on
media or written works, I have to do more research to validate such
information's reliability.
The most valuable lesson I have learned in the course is the need for presenting information that is...
