The
island is endowed with almost all what is considered essential for a human
being to survive comfortably in a given place. The habitants of the island have
a way of getting in touch with the rest of the world through restricted to
mails and newspapers. Food and power supply are also guaranteed in the island,
therefore, prevailing in the island would be better than joining other parts of
the world infected with disease outbreak and the looting taking place in the
home port.
Since
the entire world is engulfed by a pandemic, my partner and I would prefer to
prevail in the isolated island. We would agree with the captain leave us to
remain on the island until the turmoil pressure in other parts of the world
subsides then he would come and pick us. Sending mail to our family members
back at home would be a safer way to assure them that we are safe at the
island. Besides, we would be conversing with our relatives through the satellite
phone and mails, which are the methods of conveying information allowed on the
island.
Staying
on an isolated Island would guarantee us safety from the pandemic because due
to its separation from the rest of the world and again it easy to control the
spread of disease is within a low populated region as in this island which has
a population of 21 people. There is also a risk of contracting the disease
while in the transit since one of the crew is said to have died of the disease.
Apart from avoiding the disease, staying at the island would save us from loss
of properties that might be occasioned by the looting taking place at the home
port.
Our stay on the island would be possible by utilizing the resources available on the island. The time during which the island is wholly separated from the rest of the world to enable disease containment, the farm in the island would supply us with beef and pork while the beach would avail fish to us.
