Research Question
The study aims to determine whether juvenile
(young inmates) from New York are physically abused in the prison system. Besides,
the researcher seeks to know who abuses them and the kind of torture they take
them through. It is sought crucial to study New York City because the number of
juveniles in the prison system in this area is very high compared with other
parts of America. The state's judicial system has received several complaints
from community members alleging that juveniles in the prison system are
significantly exploited. In the same vein, some juveniles were reported in
prison healthcare receiving treatment after having being mutilated by their
colleagues in prison cells. Hence, it was crucial to investigate whether the
abuse occurs and devise mechanisms to curb it.
