Writing Process and Self Reflection

INSTRUCTIONS:

For this essay you will reflect on your history as a writer of college essays. The first part of your essay will be on the past writing experience (positive or negative), while the second part is your reflection on your progress  . Assignment:Part One:   In 1 page, describe your writing or revision experience prior to taking ENGL 109X. (ENGLISH CLASS SUPPORTING WRITING ESSAYS).   This experience can be a specific isolated incident or a general description of your writing process prior to this class. The experience(s) do not have to be recent as long as they have impacted you as a college writer in some significant way. Don’t limit yourself to just English classes or essays—talk about your overall experience with writing or revision in college prior to taking English 109X.     Part Two: In 1-1 1/2 pages, reflect on the development of your writing process in 109X. Some questions to consider: •How have you felt about writing and revision before this class? How do you feel now?   •In 109X, did you learn anything surprising or unexpected about your writing?   •What have you learned about writing within your discipline and across disciplines?   •Analyze your progress on the discussion board? Have you noticed any changes in the depth of your posts and comments?   •Which parts of writing or revision do you still struggle with? Which parts of writing/revision are now your strengths? •Do you feel that you changed as a writer or stayed the same?   •Which areas of writing do you need to continue to work on? You don’t have to refer to all of these questions in the essay, but do use them to brainstorm ideas.   Requirements:•double spaced, at least 2 pages, typed with Times New Roman 12 pt. font and one-inch margins.   •A self-reflection paper does not have to follow a certain format, but this is still an academic essay, so be professional in your language choices  .•You may include some outside sources, but they do not have to be scholarly. If you do use a source, please include a works cited/reference page.   PART THREE: this will be a separate page Respond to the following questions in approximately 200 1. What were some challenges you faced writing the final paper, and what were some successes? 2. What has been the most helpful aspect of this class, and how do you hope to apply it to your future writing? 3. Any other questions or comments you'd like to address.
