Introduction

Workflow management is a critical activity that any organization wishing to gain a competitive advantage should be able to control effectively and efficiently. Considering business processes at large means the ability of activity coordinators to integrate workflow automation, and at the same time, promoting collaboration between different stakeholders in an organization. The purpose of this report is to examine the business processes of a university located in Australia. The institution considers itself as a leader in information technology, having adopted intranets for workers, online enrolment modules, and a considerably effective online presence platform. The university further decided to upgrade its innovation by acquiring a multi-departmental tool for a new "AS/400 to a Unix/Oracle platform," intending to enhance client-server services, university processes, and other related tasks (Parkes, 2004, p. 5).
