Women in Perspective Discussion Board # 2: Feminism is an Equality Issue

Name two feminism and provide an example for one.

Feminism is an equality issue that has gained popularity over the last couple of decades with the existence of different ideologies used to create an understanding of the nature of gender inequality. Therefore, feminism defined as advocacy for rights and equality on the basis of gender. During class sessions, we have studied different types of feminism, but specifically, I want to reflect on Socialist feminism and radical feminism.

First, we discussed socialist feminism as an equality approach beyond patriarchy that considers the oppression of female gender as a result of economic reliance on men within the society. In the class readings by Rosalind Delmer “What is Feminism” (p.9) socialist feminists have a carefully preserved sense of identity.
