Education is the basis for a good livelihood, even when some people may fail to identify its benefits. The increase in competition in the world has left people with the only option of pursuing quality education to better their livelihoods. Unlike in the last several centuries, today's people have to learn many things to fit and survive in the world. For example, one has to learn how to use technology, do business in a competitive world, and even interact with other people at a professional level, among other knowledge domains. In the past, education quality was limited, so was the nature of competition in the job market; however, in today's world, people have to be highly competitive. The only way of acquiring this vital attribute is through the pursuance of quality education.

If someone were to argue that there is no point in going to college, I would respond to him/her by laying out some basics behind pursuing collegiate-level education. First, I would explain how going to college opens a person to the world. College life encompasses a well-blended environment where people from different cultures meet, with a united objective of gaining knowledge. When students interact in this environment, they learn different cultures essential in professional and career growth. Additionally, college being an interactive environment, students also learn how to tolerate each other's diversity in a united environment. For example, a white student will consider a black student as a colleague, a Chinese student will perceive a student from Africa as a friend, and the interdependency continues.
