Teaching is among popular professions that shape lives for learners by impacting relevant knowledge and skills that are required in life. Students who go through the counsel of a good teacher are most likely to be more prosperous in life compared to students who do not get a chance to interact with an exceptional tutor. Exceptional teachers always ensure an excellent learning environment that is considerate of different students’ learning abilities by bridging the gap between the brilliant and less brilliant learners. However, to achieve this objective, learners require well-trained and dedicated educators who are not only good with curriculum but also can understand the specific needs of their students. My favorite teacher, Professor Jayson, depicted the values of a good teacher and was adored by students and other tutors. Goods teachers are the baseline for ensuring success in both academics and social life of the students; therefore, good teachers engage students in learning, ability to establish a professional relationship, and advise students on life issues.

First, good teachers engage students in the process of learning. Shirani-Bidabadi et al., (2016) argue that engaging students during class time is an effective way of ensuring better performance. The role of a good teacher is to ensure students have opinions regarding the teaching methodologies, content, and more so, how the teacher handles their distinct learning abilities. For example, Professor Jayson engaged students in the learning process to assess their level of understanding, identify knowledge gaps, and to make the class lively. These exceptional qualities made students admire his attributes; which translated to increased performance. Besides, engaging students in class gives a chance for shy learners to gain confidence which leads to improves self-esteem.

Secondly, a good teacher possesses qualities of establishing a professional relationship. A report published by the "Department of Education and Training" proves that students feel comfortable in an environment where they interact with their teachers. Interaction arises from the ability of the mentor to establish professional relations which give chances for all students to communicate within the class and break time to get the guidance of different matters pertinent to learning.
