Wellness Portfolio

INSTRUCTIONS:

The wellness portfolio examines all dimensions of health and wellness, including physical, psychological, intellectual, spiritual, social and environmental. The format to which you create your portfolio can be done in a variety of formats, including written, PowerPoint, live slides, or other electronic means to respond to this assignment. You are welcome to incorporate a variety of techniques not limited to images (no other humans), current events, videos, or artwork and this learning task is a reflection of your everyday life. You will be required to inform your instructor how you plan to format your assignment before you begin to ensure you meet the expectations of the learning task. This is a personal reflection on your everyday life, and in addition, you will need to refer to at least two course readings. You need to also include at least three additional scholarly references. Scholarly references are peer-reviewed, verify with your instructor if you are unsure if your reference is peer-reviewed. Your portfolio must include the following sections: Psychological/Physical Wellness: Stress can play a major role in our psychological and physical wellness. Complete this stress test and discuss your results then explore strategies to reduce key stressors identified in your life.  Social Wellness: Satisfying relationships are basic to both physical and emotional health. Developing interpersonal wellness includes learning good communication skills. Elaborate on your understanding of how to communicate your wellness needs to others within your relationships. Intellectual Wellness: Intellectual Wellness includes the capacity to question and think critically while making wise decisions. Corporate media influences our health and wellness choices; however, some media portrays problematic depictions of wellness. Find a health and wellness ‘advertisement’ and critically analyze whether the portrayal of health and wellness. Include the source in your portfolio. Environmental Wellness: A healthy environment is conducive to health and wellness. Reflect on ways your behaviours and lifestyle directly impacts the environment you live in and suggest strategies to improve your environmental wellness.   Spiritual Wellness: Spiritual wellness has meaning and purpose in your life. Explore what you do to enhance your spiritual self.
