Introduction

Participatory Budgeting involves a form of public participation for deciding how public money would be spent. After allocation of a budget, the local people have a role in scrutinizing and monitoring the process of thereafter budget allocations. PB  Greensboro entails a democratic process allowing residents to assist in determining the spending of public money. The residents come up with proposals, they are then developed into proposals, and residents vote on which projects to fund.

There is the importance of having information-sharing network, consultation mechanisms, and active participation mechanism for PB to be possible. Information networks make all the stakeholders be well served with information. The PB Greenboro had challenges in its initial face; it succeeded through having the right communication channel (Afonso, 2017). There is a need for collaboration between PB organizers and the executive leadership for PB to be successful. PB begins from a simple strategy and involves being cautious about including all affected people; the officials and other elected members.
