Video Response: How Pandemics Spread

From the documentary, "How Pandemics Spread," I have learned that just like the interconnectedness between one city and another, a pandemic can also quickly spread from one part of the word to the another. An excellent example is a contamination through water bodies as well as contamination carried by people moving from place to another. However, this means of transporting virus from one place to another does not only apply in this digital era where people can move across the world with planes, but it was also apparent during the 1400 century. For example, the Chines flu of 1400 which killed 34 million Europeans. I have learned the role of antigenic shift, where animals with different virus interchange genes making a more complex virus that significantly affected people's lives.
