INSTRUCTIONS:
Refer to your Research Question (RQ) from the Research Question Activity and: 1 In your Research Question, identify the independent (IV) and dependent variable(s) (DV). 2 Define (conceptualize) the variables in your question. Explain the variables so that the reader would understand what you mean by these terms. In other words, what do the variable names (e.g. anxiety, crime) mean? 3 Identify how you would measure (operationalize) each IV and DV. You can choose any method but it try and choose the best possible way of measuring your variables. Include a discussion of reliability and validity. 1 (Hint: Searching for a standardized measure will often make things much easier)The major emphasis of this assignment is to provide responses that demonstrates your understanding of: 1) an IV and DV, 2) conceptualization and 3) operationalization. In other words, how well is your plan for measuring your variables able to show that it is a good (reliable and valid) measurement? Please don't forget to include your research question (RQ)!Remember that you are not actually conducting the research, so you can make the Measurement as complex as you would like. The idea is to propose the "best" possible measurement, not necessarily the easiest. This assignment should be approximately 2 pages in length (it might be a bit longer depending on your writing style). Please make sure and review the criteria for written assignments. This includes both grammar and writing clarity. It is suggested you use headings to separate the sections. Please, no bullets or outlines (fragments).
