Choice A Read: Ing’s “Cultural Competence” and review Ing and Gabor’s “Cross-cultural supervision: From differences that divide to strength in diversity.” and Module 6. The book chapters stress the importance of evaluators/supervisors becoming culturally competent and responsive and to individualize their approach for evaluation and to better influence their staff’s learning, development, and performance. 1.In the discussion board, discuss how you would demonstrate understanding of a variety of the concepts discussed in the articles, and Module 6. Apply these chapters and Module 6 to a) your work in human services (EA etc.) and as well as personal/working/teaching relationships and b) to one refugee/immigrant group that recently came to Canada. You must provide examples in your discussion so it teaches your readers how to work with that group and important intercultural communication and information to know about the group 2.Be certain to include in your discussion a) how differences in intercultural communication (verbal, non-verbal communication, and perceptions - please include all) impacts working and personal relationships. Remember to provide describe concepts, apply with examples! This Discussion response must demonstrate knowledge (description and application of concept) in Intercultural Communication as well as demonstrating awareness, understanding and its application in your work. Again, choose one refugee/immigrant group that recently came to Canada for your examples.
