Freud's notion of 'double' is that it represents two sides, mainly depicting the same person's features and characters. As Freud's view, the aspect of 'double, is eminent when a person experiences youthful narcissism when they are old, hence indicating that they have returned to the primitive age. An instance of 'double' portrays that a person is experiencing more than one dimension in real life or in simulated world instances. Therefore, Fraud’s notion of ‘double’ can be summarized as a degree of change accompanied by development. Freud’s ‘double’ relates to Jen Boyle’s descriptions in that the formation of a super-ego or represses projection of different personalities create the idea of double. An interaction of Freud's and Boyle's idea of 'double' brings rise to a doppelganger, which is considered uncanny.

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film uses Dr. Bruce Banner, who plays a physicist role. The setting is that Dr. Bruce takes the role of WWII supper-solder, but the gamma radiation experimentation seems to have failed, leading to the formation of a totally different character. This is the first application of 'double' in the setting of the film. Freud's uncanny idea is that it is a show of dread and creeping terror normally applied in a movie to convey a meaning. In the sample, Dr. Bruce was subjected to a test that would enable him to pay the super-warrior's role, but all these did not seem to work, leading to 'double' uncanny. On the same note, Hulk's fictional character portrays Freud's uncanny's composition and application by how Hulk understood the Banner and managed to stall the changes back. For example, at a time, remaining as Hulk, being able to speak, and eventually managing to control his rage.
