Logistics Metrics to Measure Supply Efficiency in Warehouse

Logistics is a well-organized and managed movement of products and information across the supply chain (Winkelhaus & Grosse, 2020). The effectiveness of logistic performance dictates the quality of the product reaching the final user and the total cost incurred by the logistics firm. Evaluation of logistics metrics such as on-time shipping warehouse capacity and accurate order fulfillment helps determine the efficiency of a warehouse.

On-time shipping of the products is a paramount logistics task in a supply chain. Logistics centers' primary task is to distribute inbound and outbound logistics. On-time delivery entails placing correct commodities on the right transport method and at the right time. Distributors achieve on-time delivery by monitoring late departures to the silo and early completion of freight loading time (Winkelhaus & Grosse, 2020). Since on-time loading significantly influences departure and other shipment duties, one should monitor shipment details through the 3PL system to determine warehouse efficiency.
