In
his psychological work, Richard Nesbett argues that genetics alone cannot fully
influence the human intelligence Quotient. According to the psychologist,
factors such as social status, education, and social class are also significant
aspects in shaping human intelligence. Many researchers give too much credit to
genetic influence on intelligence and overlook crucial factors like parenting
style. Socioeconomic factors mainly facilitate the ability of middle-class
children to perform well in academics. Environmental factors can greatly change
hereditary human behavior or characteristics. For instance, identical twins
brought up in different environmental settings would perform differently, and
the behavior would be diverse. The educational system is the primary factor
that equalizes the intelligence quotient among individuals. Low-intelligence
students improve their IQ by continuous learning and asking questions to
challenge their strategic thinking.
Richard is interested in aspects of personality and social interaction that
explore the impacts of interpersonal interaction.
