SOLUTION:

What can you infer about Satrapi's attitude toward the Iranian Revolution, the Islamic Republic, wearing the veil, and religion in general?

Satrapi regards the Iranian Revolution as the platform that led to the modernization of Iran as the country was able to assimilate the western civilization. She faults the revolution as the reason behind the country experiencing the closure of the schools thus paralyzing the education system. The author believes Iran as the Islamic Republic, had little respect for women as they are oppressed and regarded as monolithic and passive, however much this is a societal wrong. Satrapi feels that the new regime had done so little to justify why children should wear the veil. For that reason, children wear the veil as a way of obeying the orders issued by the teaching staff, thus, revealing that the Iranian people do not fully comprehend the need to wear the veil.
