In today's world, social interaction among people from different cultural backgrounds and races is inevitable. The establishment of mutual interactions between groups of people in society creates a basis for the constitution of social cognition aspects. People naturally try to outclass others in the societal setup. As a result, people struggle to control scarce resources while preventing others from achieving the same goal. The competition between social classes in society gives rise to structural inequalities. Thus, the people who clinch to power after benefiting from a particular structure of society dedicate efforts to maintain their social status to retain and enhance their control.

Scholars and theorists commonly use the social conflict theory to delve into the rationale behind social conflicts witnessed by the global community in the 20th and 21st centuries. “The social Conflict theory explains challenges of social nature such as wars, revolutions, poverty, health menace, and domestic violence. The conflict theory assumes that societies engage in constant competition for scarce resources such as services, money, property, and commodities.” (Reimers 2018). Therefore, the contest contributes to the hatching of societal distress. The revolutions also form another ingredient of social conflict in society.

Apart from the two assumptions of conflict theory above, there is a war proposition where conflict has accumulated over time between individuals and groups. In the context of war, societies may get united, but the embodiment of conflict remains between the involved individuals, groups, or communities (Reimers 2018). The existence of Structural inequality is also another critical assumption of social conflict theory. Here, the individuals and groups of people in power enjoy more jurisdiction rights over others. In today's political arena, this aspect of power inequality has been common where politicians try by all means to coach people from their lineage to ensure the continuation of political career in the next generation.

Conflicts in academic life continue to be one of the essential factors to be dealt with by schools administrations. Schools are common epicenters of tensions, but perhaps they are a manifestation of problems in the community (Pherali 2019).
