INSTRUCTIONS:
Using evidence from the lectures and the readings, answer the following questions in 250-350 words: How might the French Revolution have been experienced differently by different people? For example, how were women’s experiences different from men’s, peasants different from scholars, scholars different from the bourgeoisie etc.? Most of the documents we have were left behind by wealthier, educated people, often men. To what extent are we able to understand the perspectives of people who are underrepresented in these documents? How does this shape our understanding of history?
