Do you think our founders “got it right” by creating such a complex legislative branch where it is difficult to get anything done? In your view, what are the positives and what are the negatives of our legislative system? What changes, if any, would you like to see made? I believe that the complexity within our legislative branch is necessary, however, there are some downsides to it as well. For example, it is important that every bill that is introduced is thoroughly sought out before it is presented, on the other hand, it is time consuming and there is no definite time that the bill will be presented to the president. It is difficult to change a system that has been running a routine for centuries, however, during this time right now, we need change. The legislative system has to be quicker in addressing prominent issues in the world, while still being effective in the process. 2.What terms or concepts from Chapter 11 do you feel you understand better as result of completing this interactive simulation? The simulation helped me understand the complexity of our legislative system by explaining the specific process that a bill goes through in the House and Senate. I learned of the terminology used when a bill goes through the House, like cloture or filibuster.
