You will write a 4 page research paper with a 5th page as the reference page on this subject, "The Crafts of Persia". You will look at these things specifically: 1.) 1 craft item (like plates, decorative boxes, swords, etc) that is decorated with caliigraphy. Explain why calligraphy is important in the art of Persia, especially Islamic art. 2.) 1 Mina-kari (or Minakari) piece 3.) 1 Khatam-Kari piece 4.) 1 Persian rug These works should be found on a reputable website, such as a museum. Do a formal analysis of all the works selected. Include some correct formal analysis, what you think the elements add to the work and why you chose the example. This should be your opinion. To start you research, you can simply "google" these words. Wikipedia, though not a reputable source to ever be cited, can be a good place to start.
