INSTRUCTIONS:
three short paragraphs describing these past few months of civil and political unrest in our country leading up to the Presidential Inauguration this year, all amidst a raging pandemic. USe at least ten apt and powerful metaphors. Note: There are two types of metaphors - 1. One is when two dissimilar things are compared directly without using "like" or "as." So, for example, you might say, "She is a lovely flower." Or, you might hear someone say, "He is a free bird now."You are comparing a person to a flower or a bird, and the unspoken connections are beauty and freedom, respectively. 2. The second type of metaphor is a broader, implied comparison where two dissimilar things are compared in a more roundabout way. For example, you could say, "The heart of the city was broken after the police brutality that led to George Floyd's death." The city is compared to a person whose heart is broken. Or, you could say, "The fires of rebellion were stoked by police who caused more violence, and blamed the protesters." Rebellion is compared to fires.
