human behaviors occur in small groups. Three dimensions characterize these

they develop – the different types of groups found in social work are formed

natural groups come together naturally based on logically happening events,

groups include peer groups and street gangs.

duration they last – based on this dimension, groups can be categorized as
ongoing or limited-time. A limited-time group is characterized by a specified
termination time, while an ongoing group does not have a definite end point.
