Subsistence is the ways in which we make a living. This section has discussed the ways that human populations throughout time and space have adapted to the environment to extract food and how the method they employ shapes other aspects of the society. Since we've already discussed some food taboos in an earlier discussion lets discuss technology. We cannot subsist without technology. As an industrialized agricultural state most, if not all of us, procure our food by buying it from other sources rather than growing it ourselves or hunting and foraging for it.
