Technological Influence

INSTRUCTIONS:

Smart technology has a foothold on society and in just about everyone's life. We have smart phones, smart assistants, smart toasters, smart refrigerators, even smart diapers. The information flow in the Internet of Things is incredible and constantly growing. As with most things, this growing reliance on technology has its pros and cons. It makes life very convenient  but also opens avenues for hacking and theft of a person's information and/or identity.  Do we go all-in or put the brakes on? For this assignment, you are going to pick a side and argue for it -- either society will adopt all smart technology or all smart technology will be done away with. Your paper will be a researched persuasive essay explaining why your answer is the best approach. Your writing must include at least three outside sources  At a minimum, your writing will:   Focus on and support one side of the issue. Provide detailed, researched answers for the support. Acknowledge and refute the opposing side's key points.  Be at least 1,300 words in length (roughly four pages with proper formatting).  Include at least three sources from the Library's databases.  Follow the basic essay format.  Introduction with a developed controlling idea  body with supporting details  conclusion  Follow expected MLA and formal writing standards, including: Times New Roman, 12 point font Double spaced  1-inch margins on all sides A proper heading on the first page (not in the header) Avoid the use of first-person pronouns (I, me, my, mine, we, us, our) Avoid the use of second-person pronouns (you) Avoid the use of contractions (say "cannot" instead of "can't")
