Choose a specific technological artifact (for example: the mirror, disposable razors, bobby pins, ballpoint pens, etc.) Then provide your readers with the history of this artifact. Who created it? Which company or companies originally produced and sold it? Is it still manufactured now? If so, by whom? In this section of your paper, be sure to include information about the raw materials needed to create this artifact. You should also address the original purpose of this artifact (i.e. what need was it invented to address) and how and why the way people use it has changed over time. Consider also how this artifact has impacted our social practices (i.e. the way humans interact with one another). Lastly, conclude your paper by considering larger implications of this artifact. Does it impact who possesses knowledge and power or how people display their power andknowledge? Based on its uses and how people perceive it, does your artifact suggest anything about any or all of the following: gender, race, age, sexual orientation, and/or social class?
