Summary of a Selected Reading

Seib argues that democracy is a problem since it leads to political and leadership wrangles through the impeachment of leaders. The author gave an example of how President Trump (U.S) and prime minister, Justin Trudeau (Canada) are among leaders who are troubled by the presence of democracy in their regime. Additionally, the article views democracy as an issue due to perpetuating anger and disunity in many communities as they strive to see the winning side. To solve problems associated with democracy, Seib claims that justice should be spread to the grassroots of communities by listening to their complaints and opinions.
