Vodafone is ranked highly at position five concerning revenue accumulation among the largest and dominant mobile service providers across the world. Vodafone Group predominantly throughout its history takes pride in providing voice and data services to clients over mobile phones, thus, to beat off competition, the group had to come up with a strategy that will ensure dominance and profit maximization. One of the unique strategies adopted by Vodafone Group is the data strategy; where the group targeted to provide high-quality data at reasonable prices that were tailored to meet the individual needs of the customers. Concerning Porter Five Forces Framework, the competitiveness of the telecommunication industry can be analyzed thoroughly. The competitiveness of Vodafone Group in this paper has been assessed through Mintzberg 5 Ps of strategy (Porter, 1987). This model contains diverse approaches that include: plan, ploy, pattern, position, and perspective. In conclusion, Vodafone Group is one of the most dominant telecommunication companies in the world. Vodafone is ranked highly at position five concerning revenue accumulation among the largest and dominant mobile service providers across the world. As of 2014, Vodafone had managed over 430 million connections ranking it second after China Mobile. Vodafone operates overseas subsidiary companies and offices in 26 countries that use and subscribe to Vodafone network this is complemented by an extensive partnership in over 50 countries. The telecommunication and information technology services are provided with one of Vodafone Group subsidiary companies referred to as Vodafone Global Enterprises that serves corporate customers from more than 140 countries.
