Task
1: Change Management Strategy
Question 1: Stakeholder Analysis for GPDOCS
and Mapping
Stakeholder analysis processes entail an
orderly identification, evaluation, and prioritization of every individual who
impacts the project. The analysis aims to develop an effective stakeholder
communication and engagement strategy and is an essential component of a
company’s stakeholder management plan (Missonier
and Loufrani-Fedida, 2014; p. 1115). GPDOCS medical practice is a health
facility comprising of various categories of stakeholders based on their
influence and interest in the healthcare facility's operations. Stakeholders in
the GPDOCS medical practice include; doctors, nurses, administration staff,
government, and patients. Regarding the magnitude of interest and influence of
stakeholders, there are four categories of stakeholders: strong power, low interest,
significant influence, high interest, quiet influence, high interest, low
influence, and low interest.
GPDOC Stakeholder
Analysis Map
SATISFY High
influence, low interest This category comprises stakeholders whose
power highly influences the performance and outcome, but their interest in
the project is meager. Besides, such stakeholders are not actively involved
in the day to day running of the project. The project leader needs to
consider their objectives and keep them satisfied hence ensure they prevail
as strong advocates. Failure to adhere to the guidelines given by these
stakeholders can put the project at risk. Example of such stakeholders in the case of
GPDOCS in the Government |
MANAGE High
influence, high interest Stakeholders with high influence and high
interest are crucial to GPDOCS practice, and therefore the manager should
manage them well. They are very much concerned with the facility's outcome,
and their ffort is paramount in determining the hospital's outcome. The
leaders are tasked with building a strong relationship with such stakeholders
and ensuring their support. Such stakeholders are kept at the forefront of
the organization's decision-making process. Examples of such stakeholders in the GPDOCS
practices are Doctors and Nurses. |
MONITOR Low
influence, low interest This is the category of stakeholders who
neither have much interest nor influence in the project in question. These
stakeholders confer complementary service to the main project as they lay at
the periphery of the project; should monitor their activities to ensure that
they are in line with the project. The project leader is mandated to keep
such stakeholders inform to win their interest in the project. An example of such stakeholders in the case
of GPDOCS is the administration staff. |
INFORM Low
influence, high interest These are the stakeholders who stand to be
affected most by the project, but their power is too little to influence the
projects' operations in the GPDOCS services. The project leader is tasked
with anticipating their needs and ensuring such stakeholders are informed to
continue supporting the project. Always consult their specification and
incorporate such details into the brand to improve the chances of project
success. Examples of low influence high power
stakeholders in GPDOCS practices are patients. |
Question 2: Identify
and Evaluate Resistance to the Change Process
Resistance to change is the reaction given to individuals or groups of individuals when they have the perception that some potential changes are likely to subject them to risk or threats. However, the potential danger needs to be real or large to spark resistance among the stakeholders. The change in the operating hours in GPDOCS will be perceived differently by different categories of stakeholders. Some stakeholders would perceive the difference as torture and a threat to their lives due while others perceive it as a merit. The government is one of the stakeholders with significant influence in GPDCS's operation can have demanded the variation in working hours without providing the funds needed to facilitate the new changes. Since the facility's functions are solely financed by the government, which is also the policymaker, other stakeholders have to comply with the set...
