Purpose The Finance students are required to participate in the Investopedia Stock Only Game 2020 as an assignment in the Investment course. This assignment is worth 10% in the final grade. The goal of this stock game is to evaluate the student’s performance on the basis of total investment return, investment strategy, investment logic based on research on listed companies, and the presentation. The Stock Only Game is an online contest that will allow students to test their knowledge and skills (mathematical, financial, critical thinking, problem solving, research and communication). 2. Sign-up Sign up to the stock game is free. Please go to the following link: https://www.investopedia.com/simulator/ and follow the steps as explained on the website. 3. Trading on the Stock Game The first day of trading and the last of trading will be announced by Dr. Nejla in the class. 4. Competition Guidelines a. Students will begin the contest with USD 1,000,000 in virtual cash. b. Only stocks that are part of the Listed Companies will be traded. The stocks are the only class of securities that will be traded. c. A buy or sell order may be placed at any time of the day during the game period. Orders will only be matched during the trading hours as specified on the website. 'At Market' and 'At Limit' orders in the program are not matched until they have been matched on the market (i.e. if a a student places an ‘At Market’ order to buy or sell a number of shares, it will not be executed until there is a match on the market). Orders placed 'At Market' when the market is closed will be processed at the opening trade price on the next trading day. d. Short selling is not allowed.
