Sophocles is a key figure in the field of literature, and more so, concerning theatrical performance. He was born in 496 BC in Colonus at a place called Athens in the city of Greece. Through his life, Sophocles had established close relationships with crucial dramatists such as Euripides and Aeschylus from the town of Greece. By the time Sophocles dies, in 406 BC at the Athens regions, he had published several dramas, among them, the most know to date is the "Oedipus the King." Sophocles is among few highly recognized writers whose work transverse through centuries and continues to be celebrated in the 21st century by the modern day society. Sophocles can is applauded for his theatrical and literary achievement due to; dramatic creativity and innovation, use of flexible language, and drama impartiality.
