COVID-19 has dramatically curtailed aspects of human interaction and connectivity since the virus first became known to the global public in December of 2019. Drawing on an example from anywhere in the world in the past 8 months, discuss the consequences of globalization by describing how COVID-19 has impacted the social lives of people in a specific geographical location. What sorts of issues has the spread of the virus revealed about global social relations and domestic policies in your chosen country of investigation? How have people found new and creative ways to foster connections to one another while mostly having to practice some form of social distancing? Rather than a simple return to "normal," how might creativity in the midst of catastrophe lead the way to new possibilities in future worlds to come?
