When you are finished, I would like you to write about why humans lose their protection of melanin as they move away from the equator and one way that race has affected your life.  When talking about race, it does not only mean negatively. Race can also affect you in a positive way or in a way that you may have connected with someone. We discuss a lot in this class how race does not exist in a biological way, but it does very much so in a cultural way.
