Question 1: After reading “Shitty First Drafts” written by Anne Lamott, answer the following questions: Lamott says that the perceptions most people have of how writers work is different from the reality of the work itself. She refers to this in paragraph 1 as “the fantasy of the uninitiated.” In your own words, what does she mean? What Lamott has to say, is writing a first draft more about the product or the process? Do you agree in regard to your own first drafts? Explain in your own words. Question 2: After reading “Chasing Beautiful Questions” by Warren Berger, your task is to come up with your own “beautiful questions,” following his example. If you recall, Berger followed the “why?” “what if” and “how?” models, in pursuit of a solution to a problem. Identify a problem, and do your best to mimic Berger’s questioning process. Your response should have one “why?” question, one “what if?” question, and one “how?” question. Do not copy what Berger asked; the answer to this should be original and interesting to you.
