Shadowing a Journalist Blog Post

INSTRUCTIONS:

DO NOT USE THIS 2 NEWS STORY:  Opinion, the world needs journalists more than ever right now. "FOREWORD" https://cpj.org/2015/04/attacks-on-the-press-foreword/ USE ANOTHER NEWS STORY BY THE SAME JOURNALIST. JOURNALIST: Christiane Amanpour Report on the Content — For this part of your blog post, choose one of their stories (a different story for each blog post) and write a brief (less than 300 words) summary of the story/news package. Include the Five Ws and a H (who, what, where, when, why and how, including a link for classmates to check out the story if they want). In your summary, include at least two quotes from the journalist you are shadowing. Practice writing a brief but engaging lede and always strive for clarity, economy and conciseness while still being informative and engaging for your audience (your classmates). Reflect on Content — For this part of your blog post, please write a brief (less than 300 words) personal response to a specific story written by the journalist you are observing and comment on any of the following aspects: their coverage of the issue, choice of sources/interviews, data, stats or facts, any possible biases, if they created an intended audience, whose POV they included (or ignored) and any multimedia components they added to “package” the story. Please provide ample examples to support your observations. Reflect on Social Media Activities — Follow your journalist in social media, particularly Twitter if they have an account, watch the online discussions they engage in and post some very brief reflections about their online engagement/expression.
