Understand the rational and intent of each policy.  3. Review Guidelines for Comprehensive Sex Education K through 12th grade, 3rd  Edition https://siecus.org/resources/the-guidelines/ B. Research analysis 1. From your research, select a minimum of three different sexuality policies that have been enacted at a state, federal or international level ( you can choose to compare a state, national or international policies – you get to select the policy of interest) i. Describe each policy.  ii. Discuss the intent, impact, and outcome of each policy. iii. What causes the need for the policy (why and how) and who does it affect a. Examine the policy from all angles to get a broad understanding (consider cultural aspect, is it something learned/acquired/inherited) iv. If the policy is working what makes it work?  v. If the policy is not effective, what are the challenges? Make recommendation on how you would modify the policy.  2. Interview someone in your circle (friend, parents, siblings, family member etc..). Present the policies to figure out how well known is the policy to a lay person.  i. Include their reaction in your paper ii. Were they aware of the policy(ies) beforehand? C. Sexuality Education at the state/local level 1. Highlight what K-12 schools in your state and local community teach about sexuality?  2. Are there laws that mandate what teachers can and cannot say in the classroom?  3. Present and discuss your view(s) on what should or should not be taught in school including the age sexuality education should start. Is it the role/responsibility of the school system to teach sexuality to students? D. Educational Tool  1. Now that you are an expert on your chosen sexuality policies, use your creativity to design a non-traditional (outside the box) educational tool (media campaign, poster, song, poem, skit, giveaway, or game etc...) to help bridge the gaps, teach about sexuality education and engage the targeted audience/learners.  Note: The tool can be submitted separate in whichever format you have chosen.
