Self-Assessment on Reading and Writing
Reading and writing have been a critical part of my education, but when I was joining college, I did not know much about it. Literacy analysis, to me, was a simple concept that revolved around reading and writing materials. However, the more I learn, I come to appreciate the fact that literacy analysis is much more than knowing how to read and write. There are several important moments in my development as a reader, that culminate to the success I have gained over several previous lectures in reading and writing, mainly under the 39A academic writing classes. Many other lessons allowed me to appreciate writing due to constant assignments to boost my personal growth.
When I started learning literary analysis, I was bad at how I manifested my thoughts. For example, I did not know how to get the attention of my readers; I also had a challenge of the transitional flow of information; starting with a predominant point and binding that with a solid conclusion. Today, my main strength is in idea organization.
