Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead

1.Please watch the opening scene (the first 20 minutes) of the film version of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Since the theatrical space changes in the film (i.e. the characters are no longer indoors--seemingly--and trapped on the space of a stage), how does the film achieve the estrangement of the audience. How does the different use of space highlight similar (or different) ideas or themes? How does it make the audience feel? (2 pages) 2. Watch the following scenes. You should also watch the short clip from a National Theater performance (with Benedict Cumberbatch as Rosencrantz). Answer the following: In each of these scenes from the film, Rosencrantz has been given some off-text actions. Given these actions and his dialogue (both in these scenes and the scene from the short clip , how does Rosencrantz try to make sense of the world? What methods is he using? How does this contrast with the methods Guildenstern uses to make sense of what is happening to them? (2 paragraphs)
