Robert Frost Poetry
Poet's
Life
Robert Frost is considered one of the
American's most renowned poets of all time. Frost was born in 1874 and raised
in San Francisco, California, in the United States until the death of his
father, William Prescott Frost. His father died of tuberculosis. His mother was
Isabelle Moodie. Frost spent the first 11 years of his life with his father.
Following his father's death, he had to shift together with his mother and sister
to Lawrence, Massachusetts. He started attending Lawrence High School for his
studies. Robert Frost attended Dartmouth College after completing his high
school grade. He returned home after several months at the college and started
working a slew of unfulfilling jobs. He attended Harvard University in 1897.
However, he has to drop out after two years due to the health issues he
experienced. His health concerns led to a decision to return to Lawrence to
join his wife, Elinor Miriam White.
He grew up while experiencing tragic
occurrences in his life. For example, he grew up witnessing the deaths of
several people in his family, including his children. He continued to create
his poems that were heavily influenced by his surroundings. Frost spent most of
his time in the wilderness by observing nature. Robert Frost spent most of his
time living in New England, and his perspective on World War II played a crucial
role in inspiring some of his poetry. Frost had to relocate to New Hampshire in
1900 together with his wife and children to make a life. It was tough in his
personal life because two of his children died. He attempted several projects,
including poultry farming, of which it was unsuccessful.
Frost had the philosophical acquaintance
of philosophy, science, history, and literature, and this can term him a
classicist of high order (Meyer, 2017). He was a poet who had confidence in
speaking with meter and rhyme of all things natural, and this style of
literature plumped people's emotions. One aspect that touches people's feelings
is death, regardless of the person you have lost in your life. Frost is one of
the characters who have passed through saddening situations, especially his
family members' death. He is one of the few poets who will never be forgotten
in English Literature because his poetry portrays an echo of sensitive man's
limitations and experiences in life. Most
of his poems are influenced by the environment around him (Reddy 1). Frost is a
famous American poet who leaves an impression on the readers because of his
ability to represent local issues related to his experiences in New England
(Reddy 2). He selectively considered solitude and isolation to learn more about
the environment and to focus on observation and nature (Rath 48). The main
theme in almost all of his poetic work is the despondent state of life in a
person's life. In his poetic work, Frost
leaves the readers encapsulated in level, depth, and verse of human emotion
that is considered not effortlessly distinguished by the eye but nurtured and
felt in the person's heart. Robert Frost used nature in most of his poems to
give details regarding how life is harshest.
