Rhetorical Analysis of Solitude

The story 'Solitude' portrays the presence of silence, harmony, and loneliness, but as a result of choice not to socialize. To fulfill the objective and send the message intended for the audience, the author choices words that create a realist environment for readers. For example, the author indicates that “sympathy with the fluttering alder and poplar leaves almost takes my breath.” The use of words such as ‘fluttering alder' emphasis on the nature of solitude that the main character was experiencing.
