Developmental Psychology, also known as Human Development or Lifespan Development, is the scientific study of ways in which people change, as well as stay the same, from conception to death.  Instructions: Choose a topic that is related to Human development in one of the following areas:  a. Biological factors (includes genetic & health-related factors that affect development) b. Psychological factors (includes internal perceptual, cognitive, emotional, and personality factors that affect development) c. Sociocultural factors (includes interpersonal, societal, cultural, and ethnic factors that affect development) Then locate a peer-reviewed, empirical (research) study from Galileo on the topic that you choose (article must be located on Galileo). Write a 700-1000 word paper that includes: Clearly list the title of the article that is being reviewed What was the purpose of the research study? What is the hypothesis or research question?  What type (case study, laboratory observation, etc) of the study was conducted, and how did the researchers collect their data? What were the results or findings? What can you conclude from this research? Are there any recommendations or limitations that were discussed by the researchers? Discuss how one of the systems of the Ecological systems theory from the text-book applies to the study. (list and define the system). Ensure a clear explanation What impact or potential does this research have in the “real world” lives of everyday people? What future directions should research in this area possibly go? The paper must be in APA format. The assignment should include a title page and a reference page. Must utilize at least 2 other academic references in addition to the article. The article should be listed as one of your references (for a total of at least 3 references).   Grading rubric Points possible The Paper is consistent with the assignment instructions. The paper was in-depth, thoughtful, and relevant to human lifespan development. 15 The paper discusses a review of 1 peer-reviewed, empirical (research) study that is from Galileo (I must be able to locate it on Galileo).  15 The Paper was 700-1000 words long. 5 The paper was carefully proofread including few spelling and grammar issues. The Paper is in correct APA format.  5 Lists two other academic references. References are cited in-text. The reference page is an incorrect format. 10   50
